Here are some basic words and phrases, providing a feel for Talossan.

  • M’escusetz = Excuse me
  • Va num isch Xhorxh, ¿es el tu? = My name is Xhorxh, and yours?

  • ¡Benvenescu! = Welcome!
  • ¡À revidarh! = Goodbye! This is typically shortened to ¡Areivi! = Bye!

  • Sentetz à c’hasa! = Feel at home!
  • Ben morgun = Good morning (the g is silent)
  • Buna ziua = Good day
  • Buna spuderna = Good afternoon
  • Buna vhespra = Good evening
  • Ben nic’ht = Good night
  • ¡Díeu t’alegra! = Have a nice day!

  • Non per acest = You’re welcome
  • Va c’hupa = Sorry (literally, “my fault”)
  • Éu lament = Sorry (literally, “I sorrow”)
  • D’acord = Okay
  • Noi parlent Talossan = We speak Talossan
  • Qe noi aprendent Talossan = Let’s learn Talossan
  • Estudiéu Talossan = I study Talossan
  • ¿Estudiás’t Talossan? = Do you study Talossan?
